Most green pools in Dubai are swimmable again within three to seven days; severe cases may need a partial drain.
A green pool is not just ugly — it is unsafe. Algae makes surfaces dangerously slippery, hides debris, and signals that sanitiser levels have collapsed, which also means bacteria are no longer being controlled.
The fix is a process, not a single visit. We shock the water, brush every surface to break the algae’s grip, run the filtration hard with daily checks and backwashing, vacuum the dead algae out, and only then fine-balance the water. We tell you honestly at the first visit whether the pool can be recovered chemically or whether a partial drain will be faster and cheaper.

How long does it take to fix a green pool?
Typically 3–7 days in Dubai. Light green water can clear in two to three days of treatment and filtration; a dark green pool with heavy algae growth takes closer to a week, and pools with very high stabiliser levels or years of neglect may need a partial drain and refill.
Is it cheaper to drain a green pool or treat it?
Chemical recovery is usually cheaper and avoids the water cost and structural risk of a full drain. However, when stabiliser (cyanuric acid) is extremely high or the pool has been green for months, a partial drain genuinely is the better option — we assess this on the first visit and quote both routes.
